GERMAN ARTILLERY POSITIONS AT GUILLIERS. Ervillers, France Sheet 57c SW: Edition 1A local - Au With trenches ‘as at’ 15, August, 1918. Noted as a ‘Positions Map. 17-8-18’ this sheet details dozens and dozens of hostile batteries and contains many other impressive features - for example the Sapignies Switch line. Sapignies itself and Courcelles are approximately in the middle of the map which carries a depiction of the ‘Approximate British Front Line, 9am - 17-8-18’.
The map also shows the location of ‘Hostile Battery Positions visible on photographs’ and areas ‘containing Hostile Battery Positions not yet located by photographs’. The batteries are all numbered (AX36, AX27, for example and AY16). The letters are from the square on the map, of course, and in AX there are more than 30 batteries. Scale of 1:10,000.
P&p for trench-map only orders sent to addresses in the UK costs £0.50p, £1.50 to Europe and £2.00 for Rest of World addresses. Our standard postage rates will apply for combined orders of books and trench maps.
