The Digital Continuity project
Working with government departments
The Digital Continuity project has received funding from all major government departments. We will use this to conduct a full assessment of needs; define a service that can be delivered more economically than is possible by individual departments; and enter into a formal framework agreement, under which any department will be able to continue to protect their data.
This brings real cost benefits as no single department bears the full weight of infrastructure costs.
"Modern government - both in policy making and in service delivery - relies on accurate and timely information about citizens, businesses, animals and assets."
Cabinet Office, Transformational Government - Enabled by Technology, 2005
How we can work together
The Digital Continuity project is working with government departments to find out more about the sort of information they are likely to need access to, and the volume. This will help us to develop an outcome-based specification and a business model. Find out more about what the Digital Continuity service will do, as well as what it won´t do.
"Digital information about nearly every aspect of our lives is being created at an astonishing rate. Locked within all of this data is the key to knowledge about how to cure diseases, create business value, and govern our world more effectively."
Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, founder of the World Wide Web, March 2007
