Outline requirements

The outline requirements for the Digital Continuity framework of technical tools and services are available

Consultation with potential suppliers closed on 14 September 2009. Thank you to all those who offered their feedback.

You may still find the Outline Requirements and Consultation form useful, as this document outlines our current thinking about the scope of the procurement and the framework lots. You can download the document from the link below. If you have any further comments or questions, please email them to DCSProcurement@nationalarchives.gsi.gov.uk.

Understanding the document

In order to get the most out of the outline requirements document, please make sure that you have familiarised yourself with the background information about the project, and the aims and objectives of the procurement. Please have a look at the following: Procurement opportunity

The Digital Continuity Project aims to enable the public sector to use its business-critical digital information for as long as it needs to. While the project is hosted by The National Archives, it is not an archival project.

In partnership with Buying Solutions, The National Archives is developing a framework of technical tools and services available to all government and public sector organisations.

About the document

The outline requirements are presented as notional 'lots' according to the role they play in addressing digital continuity issues, and our understanding of technology segmentation within the market place. Some tools or services may, therefore, address the requirements of more than one lot.

Please note that this consultation has now closed. If you wish to register your interest in the project, please complete and return our supplier form.

Procurement timetable

Procurement will begin in Q4 2009, and suppliers who have registered their interest will receive notification emails detailing when and how to get the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire.
