Colonial and empire
This collection holds extensive documentation, photographs and correspondence spanning Britain’s colonial era. It includes the Empire Marketing Board posters from the 1930s, which promoted exports and imports across Britain’s colonial empire, including India, Australia, and New Zealand. Unique colonial papers include constitutional documents for the American and Australian colonies, plus treaties and correspondence signed by early presidents of the USA and the first governors of Australia.
