Oliver Morley, Chief Executive and Keeper, The National Archives is speaking to delegates at the Archives and Records Association and the International Council on Archives conference today about the upcoming transfer of responsibilities for the archive sector to The National Archives later this autumn.

Oliver is inviting views on how The National Archives implements the responsibilities transferred from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) and how to best meet the sector's priorities.

Following his speech, Oliver will be available for questions. Members of The National Archives' Archives Sector Development Team will also be at the Information Marketplace on Thursday 1 September.

The transfer of responsibilities and initial tasks was agreed by The National Archives and Department for Culture, Media and Sport following the announcement of the closure of the MLA last year.
