Our new 'Archives sector' website will be launching at the end of March, containing information, guidance and best practice case studies for archives. The website aims to meet the needs of the archives sector and reflect new ways of working.
The National Archives formally took on the role of sector leader in October 2011, when responsibility for archives across England transferred to us from the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA). Read more about the role and our commitments.
Information currently found on our Information management site under Archives Sector Development and Services to archives will be moved and found under the new, dedicated Archives sector site.
