Take part in Earth Hour
30 March 2012
On Saturday 31 March 2012 at 20:30, The National Archives will join millions of people across the globe participating in Earth Hour - the world's largest public action for the environment.
The idea behind Earth Hour is that individuals and organisations turn off lights and other electrical equipment for one hour to demonstrate a commitment to tackling climate change. We already make sure that all lights and non-essential equipment are switched off out of hours - taking part in this event is a way to show our dedication to reducing carbon emissions, and check that we are doing as much as possible on a regular basis.
You could also participate in Earth Hour at home by turning off your lights and appliances during the event. To get more information visit www.earthhour.org.
