Office of the Auditors of Land Revenue: Presentments made for the manor of Hampton Court, Middlesex, dated 1662.

  1. Wee p[re]sent that the Com[m]on Highway for Horse and foote leading from the Wick to
  2. Hampton Court thorough the Harewarren is stopped up by Pales lately erected by
  3. Oliver Cromwell and continued still stopped upp.
  4. We also p[re]sent that by turning the Course of the New River Water into the Ponds lately
  5. digged by Oliver Cromwell in the Harewarren and by the Overflowing of the same
  6. Water the Comon Highway leading from the Wick to the Heathgate is made very
  7. dangerous & unsafe to passe for Man Horse or Carriage.
  8. Wee p[re]sent that Andrew Pope Tenant by Lease of part of the Com[m]on by him inclosed
  9. att the Rent of 10 s a yeare hath not paid his Rent due att Lady day last by reason
  10. whereof his Lease is forfeited.
  11. Wee p[re]sent John Williams of Hampton Wick for Receiving of William Ryde & his
  12. Family Inmates by the space of One Moneth
  13. Wee p[re]sent John Phillipps for receiving into his house in Hampton Wick
  14. Hurlocke an Inmate and continued him there by the space of 6 Monethes last
  15. past.
  16. Wee p[re]sent Richard Rouse Constable for Hampton Wick and Jo[h]n Loveland
  17. Headborough of the same for not attending the Courte Leete according to their
  18. duty to make their p[re]sentm[en]ts.
  19. Wee p[re]sent – Boreman widd[ow] one of the Customary Tenants of this
  20. Honour for inclosing 16 acres of Land or thereabouts out of the Com[m]on field
  21. in Hampton Wick and erecting a Cottage thereupon being Coppiehold.
  22. Wee p[re]sent Hester Sturmy the Guardian of John Sturmy an Infant & a Customary
  23. Tenant of this Honour for Inclosing 40 acres or thereabouts out of the Com[m]on
  24. Field aforesaid in sev[er]all Inclosures & erecting one Cottage thereon being
  25. Coppiehold.
  26. Wee p[re]sent Jane Saunders Widd[ow] one of the Customary Tenants of this Co[ur]t
  27. for Inclosing 5 acres of Land or thereabouts out of the Com[m]on Field in
  28. Hampton Wick and erecting one Cottage thereon being Coppiehold.
  29. Wee p[re]sent Hester Cleere Spinster one of the Coppiehold Tenants of this
  30. Honor for continuing a Cottage built upon the Wast of the Mano[u]r in
  31. Hampton Wick and letting out to a Tenant for a Twelve Moneth
  32. last past.
