Moving Here
The Moving Here website holds a database of over 200,000 digitised items related to migration to England over the last 200 years. The project to create the website was led by The National Archives and funded by The New Opportunities Fund.
Thirty national and local museums, archives and libraries contributed material from their collections for users to download free of charge. In addition, a growing number of personal migration stories have been contributed by members of the public.
Project documents
These documents were developed with Moving Here partners in the course of managing the project in order to ensure digital assets were described and preserved to an appropriate level. Any organisation undertaking a similar digitisation project might find them useful.
