The membrane dated 1325 is an indenture certifying delivery by the king's ministers to the custodian of a parish of the corn, horses, place etc. to certain values, presumably included in this file because it was sent in as part of the assessment on parishes of the tax of 1340.
The other membranes fall into two main categories. The majority are parochial assessments the dates of which, where legible, all fall in March and April 1341. Several are collectors' bonds, all dated in July and September 1340. The membranes at the end of the file, which were added to it later, are listings of Cinque Port taxpayers and an instruction to exempt them.
