Northumberland Archives used lockdown to create 79,431 digital entries from numerous paper catalogues, run their first ever series of online talks, and launch an online volunteering pilot, which indexed 14,000 names.

Cheshire Archives & Local Studies worked with Snow Angels to support vulnerable older people. They supplied paper versions of online activities, ‘living memory’ photos, prints to frame, and a notebook for recording Cheshire memories.

Barnsley Archives

Barnsley Archives is working with Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, on a new residency with the Eldon Street High Street Heritage Action Zone. Simon is using the service’s collections to create a series of new artworks inspired by Barnsley’s Unnatural History.

Hornsea Pottery remains a world-famous name despite closing in 2000. East Riding Archives produced an online exhibition with Hornsea Museum about the company, using materials digitised by their Bridging The Digital Gap trainee.

Abertay University Archives brought their history to life with Dundee’s schoolchildren, young carers, and volunteers, by researching untold stories in the collections, including those of women and people from the BAME community.
