Newcastle University Special Collections and Archives

Project staff at Newcastle University Special Collections and Archives have completed a two year archive project to catalogue the Sir Terry Farrell archive. This collection consists of 60 years of professional practice material of renowned architect Sir Terry Farrell. The collection is being incorporated into architecture teaching modules and has hosted cataloguing and born-digital student placements.

Liverpool John Moores University Special Collections & Archives

LJMU celebrated its 200-year anniversary with a project to catalogue its institutional archives. This saw increased access and use of collections, and supported LJMU’s re-think, re-design, re-present exhibition: a collaboration with Graphic Design and Illustration BA (Hons) to showcase student artwork inspired by the University’s history. The archives also launched a TikTok, now at over 20k followers, to promote the sector and our collections, and converse with global audiences.

Lancashire Archives & Local History

In 2023, the team at Lancashire Archives & Local History reworked the search room to accommodate a substantial new exhibition space, designed to encourage new audiences and visitors to the service. Working with Lancashire County Museum Service and community partners our first exhibition, ‘Shaping the Future: Women’s Lives in Lancashire, 1950-1980’, is a bold, visual display that challenges how archive collections are interpreted and enjoyed.

 

 

Heritage Quay / Women in Rugby League

Heritage Quay in collaboration with Women in Rugby League curated a project which records the hidden history of International Women’s Rugby league. They engaged former players to collect their memorabilia and relay their personal stories and experiences to encourage and inspire future generations of women. They have successfully archived materials from 1996-2003 and this includes archives of of the Great Britain’s Women’s team.
